State titles were held over the weekend of Feb 27~28 in windy and variable conditions making for some difficult competition. Aldinga Bay fielded over twenty competitors for the first time in a number of years.

Results were pleasing with 5 individual silver medals and a sixth place in the U9 Surf Swim team race. More importantly, the competitors improved on their individual and team results with most making semis and finals Aldinga Bay was often mentioned in commentary.

Congratulations to

Also announced at the State Titles were our nominations for Junior Life Saver of the Year, Kane Andrewartha and Kristen Rothwell. This is a prestigious award which takes a number of diverse criteria into account including both competition and non-competition activities undertaken by the nipper. Congratulations to both Kane and Kristen.

Nippers have also been active in supporting the club’s efforts at the Beach Road BBQs through February manning the stand over two separate weekends. This is recognised by the junior group as an important source of club funds and we encourage any member to become actively involved if the opportunity arises again in the near future
